Próspero Tequila is one of the few tequilas still produced by a Mexican family. Almost every other Tequila brand in the U.S. today, is owned by a multi-national drinks company.
Our master distiller, Stella Anguiano, is a pioneer in the tequila industry. With 30+ years of experience in perfecting the art of blending tequila, she is one of the few female master distillers in Mexico.
No two Próspero bottles are the same – as they are each hand-produced using local, recycled glass and hand-decorated in Mexico.
Próspero Tequila is an award-winning tequila that is additive-free.
The Process starts with fully matured 8- to 10-year-old agaves harvested by hand and then cooked for 18 hours at 212 Fahrenheit to convert the starches to sugars.

Striking out in search of opportunity, open space and a bit of adventure, the intrepid settlers who arrived to Jalisco’s wild
frontier were filled with pride and optimism. On this land they found plenty. On this land they prospered.
We believe this same sense of adventure, pride & passion are imbued into every bottle of Próspero Tequila.
Born of the lush, volcanic soil of the tequila valley in Jalisco, Próspero Tequila was created by Stella Anguiano, one of Mexico’s premier female Master Distillers, in collaboration with International Singer, Rita Ora.
Exquisite care is taken throughout the production process to ensure that each bottle reflects pride in the spirit – inside and out.
Every element is crafted by hand; from the elegant bottle to the perfectly balanced liquid, to the artistically illustrated label.
Our Distillery
Próspero Tequila is produced at the Orendain family distillery – one of the founding families of Tequila and one of the few tequilas still produced by a Mexican family.
They pay tribute to authentic Mexican traditions - including Charreria (cha-reh-ria) -Mexican sport of livestock herding.
There is a working horse farm on distillery grounds – and this is the reason why we have a horse on our label.
Stella Anguiano – A Pioneer of Tequila
Stella Anguiano was born in Tequila, Mexico. Stella decided to follow her love of math and science and pursue a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Guadalajara.
Stella began her distinguished career at Jose Cuervo. While at Cuervo, Stella, honed her skills working in different aspects of production, from raw materials to barrel aging.
Stella has more than three decades of distilling experience, working at the Orendain Family Distillery for 20 years, where Stella, in collaboration with Rita Ora, created Próspero Tequila.
Stella is committed to paying tribute to Mexico’s heritage while still pushing boundaries in her craft and excelling as a woman in a male-dominated industry. Stella is one of the few female Master Distiller’s in Mexico and is regarded as one of the best Master Distillers in the tequila industry.
